The former president's Family Member Seeks Professional Guidance from Tiger Woods Before LPGA Debut
The rising star has substantial online following
Kai Trump will have multiple prominent cheerleaders as she begins her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a sponsor's invitation to compete at the Annika tournament in Florida.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, owns multiple international courses and often competes against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we have competitive games," she stated.
She mentioned that her grandfather, who won't be present, counseled her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"He essentially suggested to compete and relax," she added.
"From my perspective, he's simply a regular grandfather. He won't be there this weekend. He's busy with presidential duties, making him somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has competed in just three tournaments this year and maintains the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association listings.
But she can receive tips from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with her mother.
"He represents the top athlete worldwide," the young golfer said.
"And he's a superior human being. He advised me to compete, have fun, adapting to the flow."
She'll challenge some of most prominent players in professional golf at this tournament, featuring second-ranked the champion, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that her participation helps introduce the sport to different demographics, particularly with younger fans.
Kai has substantial online presence and just introduced a personal apparel and wellness brand.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
